After review by the Senate, the Committee on Social Affairs of the National Assembly has brought little change to Article 5e. The penalties for propaganda and advertising of tobacco were extended during its work to sponsorship and patronage including the vaporizer.
The amendments filed to this article have all been either rejected or withdrawn during the public session, this November 25th 2015.
One amendment was opposed to the ban on advertising and propaganda in favour of the electronic cigarette. Four others proposed to continue to allow posters for tobacco as it is the case today at tobacconists. Finally, a dozen deputies suggested to extend the authorization of the posters to new tobacco products, such as the heated smoking devices (Ploom, IQOS) .
