New Zealand Vets Invited to Attend Event About CBD Use For Pets

As the world’s first clinically trialed and registered medicinal cannabis products for animals are being rolled out, Hale Animal Health is inviting New Zealand’s vets for an educational event at the country’s largest medicinal cannabis facility.

Held at Hale Animal Health’s headquarters, anyone attending the event will learn more about the future of cannabidiol-based (CBD) products for New Zealand’s pets. The hosts will offer a peek into the extensive R&D work now underway in the quest for Hale’s CBD veterinary-prescribed medicines to achieve approval by the country’s regulator, ACVM (Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines).

A keynote speaker will share their extensive knowledge and experience in ‘cannabis for pets’, and Hale will use the event as an opportunity to launch its latest natural supplements range for cats and dogs, Best Life. “The veterinarians will get an exclusive VIP tour of Helius’ massive 8,800sqm state-of-the-art indoor facility and hear from a US-based vet experienced in treating pets with cannabis. It will be a fascinating night and I suspect a first for our country’s vets,” says Leila de Koster, Managing Director of Hale Animal Health. MedCan 2021

Meanwhile, MedCan 2021, New Zealand’s medicinal cannabis conference will be held at Auckland’s Cordis hotel, on the 12th and 13th October, and interested parties may attend online or in person.

The event will connect medicine, industry, science and technology, and will feature leading international and national thought leaders. The areas covered in the discussions will include seed to sale, clinical trials, prescribing, patient case studies, as well as the social, cultural and economic benefits of the products to New Zealand.

Executive Director of BioTechNZ and MedCan Summit 2021 organiser, Dr Zahra Champion, said that with over $100 million invested in the local medicinal cannabis industry “2021 is our year to shine.”

“MedCan 2021 will help local companies accelerate their path to market through valuable insights to exporting, innovation and education. We’ll present the latest medical and scientific findings and breakthrough technologies, and we’ll explore the current challenges and opportunities around the likes of investment, agritech, pharma manufacturing, and clinical trials,” added Champion.
