The ideal partner

The Pumper is inserted between the box and the Hadron RDSA. It contains 12ml and feeds the dripper with liquid via its BF pin. It is compatible with other drippers, but its 30mm diameter restricts the choice.

An ingenious squonk system

As usual, Steam Crave presents us with a product free from any manufacturing defects. At 36.4mm high and weighing in at 75.25g, the first word that springs to mind is imposing. The body of the Pumper is made of stainless steel. The deck can take drippers up to a diameter of 30mm. A wide seal around the 510 connector ensures there are no leaks.

Filling is done by removing the cap on the side of the Pumper. Slight knurling gives good grip. There is a little hole to allow the air to escape when closing to avoid pressurising the tank. A silicone seal on the cap ensures it is fully leak-proof.

The opening is sufficiently wide to be able to use all the e-liquid bottles on the market. It’s a good idea to tilt the Pumper slightly to make it easier to fill.

Opposite the filling hole is the pushbutton used to operate the pump. Steam Crave states in the user manual (only in English) that one press delivers 0.22ml of e-liquid. You need to adjust the number of presses according to the quantity you want to send to the dripper tank.

The manufacturer also states that you need to place a drop of e-liquid on the two pushbutton seals to facilitate its operation. To do so, unscrew the body of the pushbutton from the deck. Then simply remove it from its compartment to have access to said seals.

The pump body, located inside the Pumper, can be fully dismantled for thorough cleaning. There is also an exploded view of the assembly in the user manual showing the diameter of the various seals.

Although the 510 connector is long enough for use in mech mode, we don’t recommend it. All of the metal parts that it is made of lead to a significant loss of conductivity.

The Pumper is very pleasant to use. Three or four presses on the pump are enough to sufficiently soak the fibre. Complete dismantling for cleaning does not pose any particular problem. Containing a comfortable 12ml, it provides long hours of vaping.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-pumper-steam-craveWith the Pumper, Steam Crave have designed something really ingenious. The fact that you can use a dripper in bottom feeder mode with a standard box is great. Holding a generous 12ml, it is the perfect ally for the drippers in the Hadron range. It can be used with all RDAs equipped with a BF 510 pin, of course.
