Review: Cosmo Nebula kit – Vaptio

The production of the Chinese manufacturer Vaptio is rather discrete. However, with the Cosmo Nebula kit, the brand has come up with an e-cigarette that is ideal to start vaping. The kit is easy to use and delivers good-quality vapour.

A small, discreet kit

The Cosmo Nebula kit is compact. With its built-in 1500 mAh battery box and 2ml clearomizer, it works well both for mouth to lung and restricted direct to lung vaping. With no complex settings to adjust, the kit is designed for beginners looking for a simple product.

An easy box

The top of the box can take a clearomizer with a diameter up to 18.5mm. The Cosmo Nebula kit is designed to be used with the clearomizer provided. The circular deck is slightly raised to avoid scratches when screwing and unscrewing the clearomizer. Assembly is tidy with no sharp plastic.

Underneath the box is a USB-C port to charge the 1500 mAh battery quickly. During charging, an LED flashes on the front, indicating that the procedure is progressing normally. The battery life is consistent with the format of the kit, as the coils don’t use much electricity.

On the front is a slightly concave fire button. It falls naturally under both the finger or thumb when you press it. The box is made of translucent plastic through which you can see the electronics. Weighing in at just over 48g, the Cosmo Nebula can be easily tucked away in your pocket or bag. Just under the fire button is a second button used to adjust the power of the box. There are three choices: low, medium or high. Nothing could be simpler, the chosen levels are symbolised by different LEDs.

A versatile clearomizer

The Cosmo Nebula kit clearomizer is simple but effective. Two mouthpieces are supplied in the box. One is designed for direct to lung and the other thinner one is for mouth to lung vaping, like a tobacco cigarette. It’s a great point for a small affordable kit to offer two vaping styles without any significant change to the equipment.

At the base of the clearomizer are two air inlets positioned opposite each other to cool the coil. On one side, a wide opening with two smaller holes enable accurate adjustment for mouth to lung vaping. The other opening does not have the two orifices. The tank itself turns on the base to adjust the airflow, not just the ring.

The tank filling holes are accessed by turning the upper part of the clearomizer through a quarter turn. The knurling around the edge of the Cosmo Nebula makes it easy to operate. The orifices used to pour in the e-liquid are the right size for a clearomizer that is only just over 18mm in diameter. The 2ml volume corresponds to vaping which does not consume much power. If the kit is used exclusively for direct to lung vaping at maximum power, it needs filling up much more often.

The kit comes with two resistance coils. This is a great feature which enables vapers to try out two vaping styles by just changing the coil. The C6 coil is 0.6 ohms for use between 15 and 23W whilst the C1S is 1.6 ohms for power of 7 to 12W. You can vary the power between the three settings to suit the vapour production and warmth you want. The flavours delivered are great for both fruity and gourmet type e-liquids.

Vapour production in direct to lung mode is impressive for such a compact kit. The Cosmo Nebula is an ideal kit to start out in vaping or as a backup. The settings are simple and practical for excellent flavour rendering.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-cosmo-nebula-kit-vaptioThe Cosmo Nebula is a good kit to start vaping. Its three power levels mean the user can vary the vapour production and temperature. The flavours don’t disappoint with either coil. This light, compact kit is ideal to start vaping with no restrictions.
