Follow these steps to fix the “check atomizer” error:
- Clean the clearomizer connector pin
Start by cleaning the connector (or pin) in your atomizer, clearomizer or dripper with some paper towel. Carefully remove any visible residue.
- Clean the battery pin
Use paper towel to clean the part where the clearomizer pin screws in. You want to remove any e-liquid and or other residue there. Cleaning this thoroughly also means that there’ll better conductivity between the various parts of the e-cigarette.
- Check that all parts of your e-cigarette are screwed together tightly
Check that your atomizer, clearomizer or dripper is firmly screwed to the battery. If they are loose this can cause an error message. But don’t over tighten them or you risk blocking the parts in between them.
- Check that your coil is positioned correctly
Make sure the coil is correctly seated. Take it out and put it back in, just to check. We’d also recommend changing the coil if the message keeps appearing.
Check Atomizer
Most of the time, the cause of this problem is quite simple. The electronic device, whether it’s a mod, box mod, or pod, fails to establish a connection with the top part of the electronic cigarette, namely the clearomizer or atomizer.
To attempt to fix the issue related to the “Check Atomizer” message on your Vaporesso e-cigarette, or any other brand, follow the steps explained at the beginning of the article.
If after following all these steps, the “Check Atomizer” message still appears, try replacing the coil with a new one. Sometimes, a coil may have a manufacturing defect that prevents it from functioning properly. Finally, if despite all your efforts the message persists, you can try connecting another atomizer or clearomizer to your battery. Some models of clearomizers and atomizers have a pin that is slightly shorter than normal, causing a false contact and triggering the error message.
Unfortunately, if the “Check Atomizer” message is due to such a false contact, you will have no choice but to change the model of your clearomizer or try it on a different battery.
Short Atomizer
An electronic cigarette displaying the “Short Atomizer” error message is experiencing the same problem as one indicating “Check Atomizer.” These two messages have the same meaning and require following the same steps to attempt to resolve them.
If your e-cigarette displays “Short Atomizer,” the contact between your e-cigarette and its coil is problematic. Start by cleaning the 510 pin (the connector) between your atomizer or clearomizer and the battery. To do this, simply unscrew your atomizer from the box and clean any traces of e-liquid or dirt between the two. Reassemble the unit, ensuring that your clearomizer or atomizer is properly screwed into your box.
If this doesn’t resolve the issue, check that your coil is tightly screwed in. Depending on the clearomizer model, it may be necessary to empty the tank to access the coil. You can temporarily store the e-liquid in another container during the operation.
If the coil is properly screwed in and the “Short Atomizer” error message still appears, replace the coil.
Battery Error
The “Battery Error” message often indicates a serious issue.
If your Innokin, Geekvape, or other model box displays the “Battery Error” message, use the reset function on your device to restore it to its factory settings.
If the problem persists, it will unfortunately be necessary to change the device. The “Battery Error” message often indicates an issue that cannot be resolved.
If your box is equipped with a removable battery (such as the 18650 type), simply replace it. However, if the battery cannot be replaced, you will need to switch to a new box model.

Low Atomizer
The “Atomizer Low” message indicates a problem with the resistance value of your coil.
The “Atomizer Low” message is a signal from your electronic cigarette that the resistance value of your coil is too low. Each box has a power range in which it can operate, and each coil, depending on its value (expressed in Ohms, with the Ω symbol), requires a specific power level to heat properly.
If the power required by your coil is too high for your box to supply, the “Atomizer Low” error message will appear.
To resolve this issue, the only solution is to change your coil to one with a higher value! Indeed, the higher the ohmic value of a coil, the less power it needs to function. For an “Atomizer Low” message, you should opt for a coil with a higher value.
If the error message persists despite replacing your coil with a higher value model, it is most likely a connectivity issue. In this case, follow the steps indicated at the beginning of the article for the “Check Atomizer” message.
Frequently Asked Questions about the “Check Atomizer” Message
“Check Atomizer” is a common error message on e-cigarettes when the connectivity between the battery and the coil is interrupted. This message appears when the battery does not detect the coil in the clearomizer or atomizer attached to it. This issue usually arises due to a faulty assembly. In some cases, a defective or worn-out coil can also cause this problem.
To fix the “Check Atomizer” error message, you need to thoroughly clean the connection between your battery and your clearomizer or atomizer. This connection, sometimes called the 510 pin, must be completely clean and dry. To do this, simply unscrew your clearomizer from your battery, then clean the threaded parts on both the box and the clearomizer.
Reassemble the unit by screwing it back together correctly, without over-tightening, and then check if your e-cigarette works properly. If the error message persists, replace your coil.
These two messages indicate a similar issue: the absence of connectivity between the battery and the clearomizer. However, an e-cigarette displaying “Atomizer Low” or “Low Atomizer” might also be warning the user that the installed coil’s resistance value is too low. Therefore, check the compatibility of the coil with your device. If you’re using a homemade coil, redo your build to achieve a higher ohmic resistance.
The “Short Atomizer” error message is similar to “Check Atomizer.” If your vape shows this message, it indicates a contact problem between the coil of your atomizer or clearomizer and the battery in your box. Thoroughly clean the connections of your e-cigarette, then replace your coil if the error persists.
Start by checking that your assembly is correct and well-tightened. If it is, replace your coil. If the error message persists, it’s possible that your new box or battery is simply incompatible with the clearomizer or atomizer you are trying to use. Fortunately, this is a very rare occurrence.
If the error message appeared after you replaced your coil, start by thoroughly cleaning your e-cigarette. Then, check that your new coil is properly screwed into the base of your clearomizer. Finally, if the error message persists, simply replace the coil.
The “Battery Error” message is usually not a good sign. To try to resolve it, you can reset your device by following the method explained in the user manual. If your e-cigarette uses a removable battery, you can try replacing it. If none of these methods work, report the issue to your retailer if your device is still under warranty. Otherwise, you will need to replace your e-cigarette.
The “Atomizer Low” or “Low Atomizer” message indicates that the resistance value of your coil is lower than what your battery can handle. To fix this problem, simply replace your coil with one that has a higher value (expressed in Ohms Ω). Most boxes cannot power a coil with a value below 0.1 Ohm. If your coil is supposed to have a higher value but this error message appears, try replacing the coil.
