Review: Osiris Mini RTA – Vaperz Cloud

The British manufacturer Vaperz Cloud returns with the Osiris Mini RTA. This dual-coil atomizer, thanks to its very permissive airflow, offers a flavorful vape from slightly restricted DL to very airy. It features an innovative deck locking system that makes it easy to access.

An atomizer designed for DL

The Osiris Mini RTA is a 25 mm diameter dual-coil atomizer. The airflow redirection, ideally placed at the bottom of the coils, provides exceptional flavors. Unlocking the build deck is simplified with a latch located under the atomizer. Its versatility in airflow adjustment will undoubtedly please both slightly restricted DL enthusiasts and vapers seeking big clouds.

An innovative RTA

Made of stainless steel, the Osiris Mini RTA is available in three colors. The drip tip, made of black Delrin, is of type 810. It is well-sized and feels pleasant on the lips, although its hold on the RTA is not perfect.

The top cap separates from the body with a quarter-turn system. Rotating it to open closes the liquid intakes located at the bottom of the tank, preventing leaks during filling.

Once removed, you have access to the two fill holes. Their shape and size accommodate most e-liquid bottles. They are slightly recessed, preventing overflow during filling.

By default, the atomizer is equipped with a straight tank with a 4 ml capacity. It can be replaced with a bubble tank, increasing the capacity to 6 ml.

To change it, simply unscrew the bottom part of the tank while firmly holding the top cap. The atomization chamber features an engraving in the shape of an eye, reminiscent of the hieroglyph of the Egyptian god Osiris.

The base of the Osiris Mini RTA houses the airflow control ring. It has 2 sets of 9 holes on opposite sides of its circumference. This configuration allows for precise adjustment of the incoming airflow. It easily transitions from slightly restricted DL to very airy vaping. It has stoppers to limit its rotation.

To access the build deck, move a small latch located under the atomizer. By default, placed in the F position, slide it to the O position to unlock the base and turn it a quarter-turn to the right to detach it from the tank. The 510 connector protrudes enough for use on a hybrid mech mod.

A permissive build deck

The build deck is postless. The four posts have sufficiently large openings to accommodate big coils, if desired. They are equipped with flathead screws. A large PEEK insulator separates the positive block from the rest of the deck, which is entirely carved out of solid material. All the machining on the Osiris Mini RTA is well-done. The screws have no play during tightening.

The airflow inlets are located on the circumference opposite the posts. They are slightly raised, allowing the incoming air to hit the bottom of the coils for perfect cooling.

Installing the coils is straightforward. Once cut to a length of 6 mm, simply place the legs into the posts and position them as close to the airflow inlets as possible. This placement ensures optimal flavor delivery.

Wicking can be a bit tricky due to the placement of the channels. Leave about 6 mm of wick on each side and slide them into their slots without packing them, ensuring they fully occupy their spaces.

To assess its potential, we tested the Osiris Mini RTA in three different configurations.

First, we equipped it with a pair of fused claptons 2 x 28/38 in ni90 on a 2.5 mm rod at 70 W. This setup requires restricting the airflow to one-third. The result is dense, warm vapor with excellent flavor.

For the second setup, we used a pair of fused claptons 3 x 28/38 in ni80 on a 3 mm rod, with the airflow ring set to half. At 100 W, the flavors are excellent and nuanced. The vapor is dense and warm, and the atomizer does not heat up at all.

To push it to its limits, we finally equipped it with a pair of alien coils 4 x 28/38 in ni90 at 140 W. At the start of the test, we opened the airflow fully; the atomizer is so airy that we had to slightly restrict it to get dense vapor. The flavor reproduction at this power remains perfect and nuanced. The atomizer itself is barely warm. Regardless of the build used, the Osiris Mini RTA perfectly reproduces the flavors of the vaped e-liquid.

In summary:

What we like:

  • Flavor quality
  • Airflow versatility
  • Build quality

What we don’t like:
