The chic pod

The Soul has a look that stands out from the other pods currently available. With its casing that covers the cartridge and its bright finish details, it is both discreet and particularly practical. The capacity and battery life are comfortable. The pod is powered by the manufacturer’s chipset and good-quality coils.

The understated, efficient vape

Depending on the selected finish, the Soul alternates between bright, mirror-effect parts and parts with a matt finish. This contributes to the stylish design of the pod and its flawless finish. On the front is a USB-C port for fast-charging the built-in 1500 mAh battery, a black and white screen and a fire button. Vapour can be generated either by pressing the button or just by inhaling.

The screen displays all the essential information: power settings from 5 to 30 W, the coil value, the voltage and a puff counter. There’s no need for anything more than that for a pod with a sealed coil cartridge. The screen brightness is good whatever the light conditions.

A removable magnetic casing covers the cartridge, which sits on top of the battery. It is very discreet and greatly contributes to bringing the various parts of the Soul together. This casing has two openings to check the level of the liquid. The idea is good, but in reality, it’s not always easy to see how much liquid is left. It’s more reliable and just as quick to remove the casing.

A dial next to the mouthpiece on the top of the cartridge is used to adjust the air flow that cools the coil. The opening on the dial is hidden by the pod casing. However, the design of the casing allows air to enter freely without interfering with the draw. Fully closed, it gives a tight draw and a warm vape. Conversely, when it is fully open, the draw is much airier and adapted to the corresponding cartridge.

As usual on a pod, you lift the silicone seal to fill the 4 ml cartridge, which is at the top end of the average available capacity on this type of device. E-liquid bottles with narrow tips should be used preferably to make life easier and prevent any overflow.

The Soul comes with two cartridges. One has a 1 ohm coil adapted to MTL for a power of 5 to 15 W. The other cartridge is 0.6 ohm to vape between 15 and 30 W and is better suited to very restricted direct-to-lung vaping. Two cartridges and two different experiences, both offering outstanding flavours. With the Soul, GeekVape successfully delivers a pod adapted to different needs without neglecting the design aspect. It’s a superb, reliable pod with a great finish.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-soul-geekvapeThe Soul is a very good pod which is particularly well designed. The chipset is reliable and does the job perfectly. The 4 ml capacity is nice, and the flavours it delivers are excellent. The fact that the cartridges are disposable is a downside.
