Smok is back
Smok is a historical brand in the vape industry. The manufacturer quickly stood out with devices designed for direct, high-power inhalation. Although Smok has experienced some issues with leaky and malfunctioning equipment, it seems the brand is moving towards a more reliable renewal. Will the Tech 247 pod meet this challenge?

A sleek and precise pod
The Tech 247 pod features a very bright and perfectly readable monochrome screen regardless of ambient lighting conditions. It displays essential information such as coil value, puff count, selected power, and the pod’s charge level in percentage, along with a visual representation symbolized by a colored bar. Next to it, a USB-C connector allows for fast charging of the integrated 1800 mAh battery. The Tech 247 has a good battery life for a pod that barely exceeds 10 cm in height.
A fire button completes the setup to trigger vapor production and fine-tune settings. The Tech 247 pod can produce up to 30 W; we will return to this later.
Apart from the model name on the top of the battery body, the Tech 247 aims to be discreet. No illuminating LEDs, just the screen. It’s sufficient and precise enough not to add other features. The cartridge is transparent enough to see the e-liquid level without having to remove it. The mouthpiece is molded to the tank body. It has a circular shape that feels pleasant on the lips.
The cartridge is held on top of the battery by two magnets that hold perfectly. The tank only fits in one way. At the top, there is the filling access. The capacity is 4 ml, which is comfortable and avoids too frequent refills. You can fill the cartridge without removing it from the battery.
An airflow adjustment system cooling the coil is placed on the side of the tank in the form of a slider. It allows you to vary the sensations from a tight draw (MTL) to a much more open one (restricted DL). The slider doesn’t move on its own and is precise.
Two coils are provided with the Tech 247. An M-Coil with a value of 0.6 ohm for use between 15 to 18 W and an M-Coil at 0.8 ohm for vaping between 11 and 14 W. A 0.4 ohm coil is also compatible for more dynamic vaping up to 22 W. It’s clear why the pod can reach up to 30 W maximum.
The pod automatically recognizes the coil and suggests a vaping value, but it can be manually adjusted. The Tech 247 produces vapor by pressing the fire button or by inhaling. Basic settings allow you to change this criterion by choosing either button activation, inhalation, or keeping both modes active.
The Tech 247 delivers very good flavors. The battery life is consistent with the coils used. During our tests, we refilled the device many times and found that it doesn’t leak or seep. The Tech 247 is a pleasant surprise and marks the successful return of Smok.
