A great starter kit
The Cosmo Prime follows in the footsteps of the Cosmo collection. Simple and mainly designed for new vapers, it cuts to the chase with minimal settings. With its powerful battery and the possibility to upgrade the kit, it’s a device that can easily keep up with vapers as they gain vaping experience.

An adaptable kit
The top of the Cosmo Prime box has a 510 connector that can take a clearomizer up to 24 mm in diameter. That’s what’s great about the Cosmo Prime. The kit comes with a pod tank fitted on a base that screws onto the box. This makes the kit easy to use. For a new vaper, a completely transparent tank attached by magnets is a good compromise to get started in vaping. If the way the vaper uses it changes over time, they can add the clearomizer of their choice to the box. Simple and practical!
Just next to the 510 connector, three LEDs display the power level selected and also the remaining battery life. The display is instantaneous and easy to read.
The base of the Cosmo Prime is covered with silicone to stabilise the box when it’s stood on a flat surface. There’s also a USB-C port to charge the built-in 2400 mAh battery. We like the box’s battery life, which is close to that of a 18650 battery. With the coils provided in the kit, the device is not too greedy when it comes to battery use.
On the side of the Cosmo Prime is a large trigger that serves as the fire button. It doesn’t make any noise when you press it and is large enough for the thumb or index finger to find it without you having to look at the box. Just below, a smaller button is used to adjust the power. With the 1 ohm coil, the lowest power is 9 W, then 11 W and lastly 13 W. With the 0.8 ohm coil, you move from 24 W to 28 W and finally 32 W.
Although the choice of three power ranges is easy to adjust for a beginner, we would have liked to have even more precise adjustment to combine the box with another clearomizer.
A clearomizer pod tank
At the base of the Cosmo pod tank, a rotating ring adjusts the airflow cooling the coil. It also modifies the draw. The Cosmo Prime kit is just at ease with a tight mouth-to-lung draw as with restricted direct inhalation. The airflow ring turns easily but is not too loose.
Two mouthpieces (drip tips) are supplied in the kit. They are both transparent but they are different shapes and adapted to a direct or indirect draw, depending on the choice of coil. It’s an excellent option that is all too often forgotten, allowing the user to really make the most of the experience from very tight mouth-to-lung to a much more open vape.
The Cosmo pod tank is held firmly in place on its base by three magnets. This base screws onto the box’s 510 connector deck. There is no play at all.
Just next to the coil slot, a silicone seal lifts up to uncover the cartridge filling hole. With a 4 ml capacity, the Cosmo pod tank lasts for ages between refills, especially in MTL. We didn’t notice any leaks or seepage during our tests.
The coil screws onto its metal base. It then slots into the tank. The seals ensure there are no leaks and keep it firmly in place. When changing the coil, it is important not to throw away this metal base or you won’t be able to use your device. We like the transparent tank that allows you to see the level of e-liquid without having to remove the cartridge.
The Cosmo Prime kit comes with two coils. The 1 ohm C5 for use between 8 and 13 W and the C8 for vaping between 24 and 32 W. As stated above, the coil screws onto its base for effective use. The Cosmos Prime is compatible with all the Cosmo coils, which include seven references from 0.7 ohm to 1.6 ohm. An added bonus is that the Cosmos pod tank can also take the Nautilus coils made by Aspire.
During our tests, the coils gave perfect results. The flavours are excellent and the draw is pleasant. Adjusting the airflow ring enables the vaper to change from a very tight draw producing warm to hot vapour to much more open as far as very restricted DL.
The Cosmo Prime is a great choice to start vaping with ease and experiment with two types of draw without changing your device. The possibility to use another clearomizer is a comfortable option which avoids first-time vapers having to buy a new kit.
