A Touch-Sensitive Pod

The Wenax Q Pro is minimalist. On one side, the brand’s name is deeply engraved, while on the other, the word “Wenax” is inscribed. Nothing more, nothing less. However, the level of finish is so high that no additional graphic elements are necessary to make the visual quality stand out. There are nearly 8 finishes available, with colors ranging from subdued to vibrant.

On one edge, a slider adjusts the airflow and modulates the sensation. With the openings fully exposed, the draw is airier, allowing for a very restricted direct vape. Conversely, the more the air intakes are closed, the tighter the draw becomes. The slider doesn’t move on its own when carried in a pocket or bag.

On the opposite edge, a USB-C port enables fast charging of the 1200 mAh built-in battery. It’s not the largest battery on the market for this pod format, but the resistance of the cartridges is fairly conservative in power consumption. Another advantage is that the Wenax Q Pro fully recharges in less than 30 minutes. You can even vape while charging.

We appreciate the vibration alert when the battery reaches 10% charge. This allows you to avoid constantly checking the battery level and provides a timely warning when it’s time to recharge.

On the front face, there’s a barely protruding firing button that lights up when in use. You can choose the vapor production method: either by inhalation, by pressing the button, or by combining both modes. At the top of the pod, the cartridge is securely held with no looseness. It lights up from underneath during operation, a handy feature in low-light conditions.

Just below the button, a screen displays essential information to the user. Power adjustment is touch-sensitive. In the menu, you can set the activation mode, power mode (Smart, which automatically adjusts the power based on the resistance, or manual), reset the puff counter, and activate an Eco mode that minimizes screen animations and vibrations to save battery. The screen is bright and remains legible even in strong sunlight.

Two cartridges come with the Wenax Q Pro:

  • The Q V2 0.8-ohm cartridge for 12 to 18 W power
  • The Q V2 0.6-ohm cartridge for 18 to 25 W power

The 0.8-ohm cartridge is better suited for an indirect draw, unlike the 0.6-ohm one. The capacity is 3 ml.

As with each new pod release, Geekvape offers excellent coils that perfectly reproduce e-liquid flavors, especially fruity ones. The flavor delivery is precise and accurate. Vapor production matches the selected power level.

The downside is the use of disposable cartridges. Be aware that with the 0.6-ohm cartridge: at 25 W, the battery won’t last a full day without needing a recharge. Fortunately, the fast charging time allows you to quickly resume vaping.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-wenax-q-pro-geekvapeThe Wenax Q Pro is an excellent pod. Easy to use, it’s responsive and reliable. The touch screen and overall finish make this pod stand out. The flavors are exceptional. However, we regret the use of disposable cartridges.
