Review: Doric 60 Pro – Voopoo

The Voopoo Doric 60 Pro pod is a rather large device with a substantial battery, suitable for both direct and indirect inhalation thanks to its 60W power.

A Large Tubular Pod

The Doric 60 Pro is somewhere between a pod and a beginner’s kit. Its size is quite significant, but it houses a 2500mAh battery for long vaping sessions. The pod features three power levels and a handy locking ring. It’s a pod that will suit many vapers, offering both direct and indirect inhalation.

A Long-lasting Pod

A button, barely protruding from the body of the pod, is used to produce vapor and also to adjust the power of the Doric 60 Pro. Just above, three small LEDs light up in different colors to indicate the device’s operation and remaining battery life.

The integration is well done, the contact under the finger feels pleasant, and the sound produced when pressing the button is rather discreet. Three different power levels can be selected with a combination of button presses, and the levels are identified by color codes.

At the base of the Doric 60 Pro, a ring locks the pod. When the mark on the ring is set to the open padlock, the pod operates via the firing button. Conversely, when set to the closed padlock, it’s no longer possible to vape or change settings. You can achieve the same result by pressing the firing button five times to turn off the pod, but the rotating ring solution is much more practical, especially when transporting it.

Near the top of the pod body, a USB-C connection allows recharging the built-in 2500mAh battery, equivalent to an 18650 battery. This is consistent with the size of the pod and the coils supplied with the Doric 60 Pro, although the 0.3-ohm coil is more power-hungry than the 0.8-ohm one. With the latter, you can vape all day without needing a recharge.

It is not possible to vape while charging. The manufacturer states that this system is in place for user safety in case of a battery issue during charging. This way, the vaper wouldn’t be exposed to potential danger near their hands or face. With its 2500mAh battery, there’s no need to charge during the day, meaning a second device isn’t required.

The tank has a comfortable 5ml capacity. At the top, two opposing airflow openings cool the coil inside. The window is wide enough to allow a large amount of air to pass through. For a tighter draw, you need to significantly restrict the airflow. This type of airflow is better suited for direct inhalation, although a tight vape is still possible.

To fill the 5ml tank, lift the silicone tab and insert the bottle’s nozzle. The opening is large enough to accommodate most e-liquid bottles. The liquid level remains visible down to the bottom of the tank.

Two drip tips are provided in the box. The one on the right is suited for a tight draw in indirect inhalation, and should be paired with the 0.8-ohm coil. The other is intended for direct inhalation with the 0.3-ohm coil, allowing a greater volume of vapor with each puff. It’s a nice touch that Voopoo pays attention to these small details, offering a complete experience with the pod.

Two PNP X coils are included with the pod. The first has a resistance of 0.8 ohms for use between 12 and 16W, while the second has a resistance of 0.3 ohms for vaping between 32 and 40W.

The vaping performance is very satisfying. The flavors are of good quality, and the vapor production aligns with the coil used. We got the best results with fruity-flavored e-liquids, with the vapor always remaining cool. The Doric 60 Pro is a great pod for users looking for a versatile tubular device.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-doric-60-pro-voopooThe Doric 60 Pro is a good pod. It operates with three different power levels and doesn’t require complex adjustments. Its coils allow for dynamic indirect vaping and also direct vaping. The flavors are excellent, especially with fruity e-liquids. The locking ring is a much-appreciated feature.
