Review: Argus G3 – Voopoo

The Argus G3 is a pod system with a built-in 1500 mAh battery. Easy to use thanks to its auto-draw activation and a mode that automatically adjusts power, the device delivers very good flavors. An efficient product.

Two cartridges, two vaping styles

At the bottom of the Argus G3, a USB-C port enables fast charging of the built-in 1500 mAh battery. Battery life is consistent with the device’s power consumption. Vaping while charging is possible. The screen displays the estimated time remaining until a full charge.

On one side of the pod, a sliding switch allows you to adjust the airflow that cools the coil. This also lets you switch from a tight mouth-to-lung (MTL) draw to a very restricted direct-to-lung (DTL) draw. The adjustment is precise and well-suited to the cartridges provided with the Argus G3. Once set, the slider stays firmly in place.

On the other side of the Argus G3, a button is used to turn the device on and off and to adjust various settings through a series of presses. This button is not used to vape — vapor is produced automatically upon inhalation.

The screen is in color. The device offers a maximum theoretical power output of 30 W. The most power-hungry cartridge requires around 24 W. However, be aware that vaping at this power throughout the day will likely require multiple recharges.

Three vaping modes are available — or rather, one mode with three display themes. The Smart mode automatically adjusts the power output based on the cartridge’s coil resistance. This setting can be manually increased or decreased if desired.

The other two are Sport and Music modes. These do not affect vaping performance but simply modify the visual display of the device.

Two cartridges are included with the pod. The coil inside is sealed, meaning the entire tank must be replaced once flavor deterioration occurs.

Refilling is standard for a pod system: lift the silicone plug to access the fill port, which fits most e-liquid bottle tips. The capacity is 3 ml.

One cartridge comes with a 0.4-ohm coil for a fairly dynamic restricted direct-lung draw. This is the most power-hungry option. The other tank is fitted with a 0.7-ohm coil for a tighter draw.

Flavor quality is very pleasant, with no noticeable flaws in flavor reproduction.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-argus-g3-voopooThe Voopoo Argus G3 is extremely simple to use, with the Smart mode automatically adjusting power output. Vapor production via inhalation enhances this simplicity. Flavors are refined and enjoyable. However, the 0.4-ohm coil’s high power consumption somewhat limits battery life.
