The Coolfire DNA
The Coolfire kit has enjoyed considerable success. The new Z80 Nex version retains the core spirit of the collection with some improvements. Still easy to use, the box remains compact. The clearomizer has good capacity and does not leak. An efficient kit.

A Modernized Box
The top of the Z80 Nex box accommodates a clearomizer or atomizer up to 26 mm in diameter, covering most products on the market operating at moderate power levels. The 510 connector is spring-mounted for solid contact between the box and clearomizer. A circular platform prevents scratching the top of the box when attaching the clearomizer.
Underneath the box, a screw-on hatch provides access to the battery compartment. Four vent holes add a layer of safety in case of battery issues. A foldable half-ring makes unscrewing the cap easier. It only takes one and a half turns to open the compartment. The Coolfire Z80 Nex box uses a 18650 format battery.
On the side of the box, two long buttons allow you to adjust power and navigate the menus. Simultaneous pressing of both buttons adjusts the vaping power.
Just above, the box is covered with thick, slightly cushioned fabric for a comfortable grip. Depending on the model chosen, this section’s finish varies.
On the front, there’s the classic firing button, protruding about 1.3 mm from the screen. Lower down, a locking switch proves convenient, preventing repeated presses of the firing button when you want to lock the box. A simple slide deactivates both the fire and adjustment buttons. Below that, a USB-C port allows for occasional battery charging.
The screen displays essential information, such as power, coil resistance, puff count…
The menus are simple. Complex functions are absent, as vaping is only possible in variable wattage mode. Screen brightness duration and maximum puff time can be adjusted. Nothing else complicates user choices.
The box can deliver up to 80 W, a somewhat optimistic power level for a 18650 battery without frequent replacements. In any case, the kit and supplied coils don’t require more than 40 W, which seems more reasonable.
Versatile Clearomizer
The new Zenith Nex clearomizer, like the box, retains the key features of Zenith clearomizers, with some improvements for added modernity.
The 5 ml tank is filled from the top. With a top airflow design, leaks at the base are impossible. To fill, turn the rotating ring which has two functions.
Turning the ring fully to the left reveals the silicone flap protecting the filling port. Turning it to the right hides the flap under the ring and opens air channels to cool the coil. The further right the ring is turned, the more airy the vape becomes. Conversely, turning it left tightens the draw for mouth-to-lung vaping.
The system is effective and easy to grasp.
Two coils are included in the kit: one Z coil at 0.3 ohm for vaping between 30 and 40 W, and one Z coil at 0.8 ohm for use between 15 and 18 W. The coil is inserted at the base of the clearomizer. It’s foolproof, with two tabs indicating the correct orientation.
Z coils do not disappoint. They are precise, and flavor details are always respected. The Zenith Nex allows for both direct and indirect inhalation, with fruity or dessert-flavored e-liquids. By adjusting the airflow, the vapor ranges from cool to warm. The 5 ml capacity is convenient.
