Review: Fuyl – Dinner Lady

Manufacturer Dinner Lady specialises in e-liquids, but it also makes a small pod that’s a pleasure to use. The Fuyl uses the brand's pre-filled e-liquid cartridges.

The Dinner Lady pod

A few months ago, Dinner Lady’s premises were hit by a terrible fire. But the brand bounced back, and carried on making its excellent e-liquids and, more recently, a pod. The Fuyl is fully automatic and there are no settings to adjust. It’s simple to use and practical, and delivers excellent flavours for the e-liquid cartridges in the box.

A quality vaping experience

A USB-C port on the bottom of the Fuyl allows fast charging of the built-in 500 mAh battery. It doesn’t have the best battery life in its class, but this pod is microscopic. It would be hard to fit a bigger battery into such a tiny pod. The 1.03 ohm coil is pretty energy-efficient anyway. This pod is a great little package, and you can even charge it while you vape. A micro LED next to the USB port lights up during charging and when you vape. But be aware that the pod is not shipped with a charging cable.

The design of the Fuyl is sleek, with no garish colours or flashing LEDs everywhere. Even so, the design is really original. The geometric shape of the Fuyl makes it look like a multi-faceted diamond, but the angular design is still comfortable to hold. Only the manufacturer’s name and the model name appear discreetly at the top of the pod. With the Fuyl, you just inhale to vape – there are no settings to adjust.

The Fuyl works with pre-filled e-liquid cartridges. The pod is aimed at new vapers and people looking for high nicotine levels. The cartridge it comes with has 20 mg/ml of nicotine, and holds 2 ml. You can’t refill the cartridge though, so when it’s empty you’ll need to replace it. The cartridge sits perfectly in its slot. We didn’t notice any sideways play when we were using it. The high ohm value of the Fuyl means it’s only intended for indirect inhalation.

There are lots of different flavours available, including the legendary Lemon Tart, which has made the manufacturer such a success. You can also get fruity, classic and menthol flavours. We especially like Vanilla Blend – it packs a nicotine punch but the aromatic flavours are fine and delicate. The entire collection is well-designed and balanced. The flavours are true, without being too fresh or too sweet. The Fuyl is the perfect match for anyone looking to start vaping with no technical hassles.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-fuyl-dinner-ladyThe Fuyl is an ultra simple little pod. There are no settings to adjust. All you do it insert the e-liquid cartridge and off you go. With its high nicotine levels, the Fuyl is intended for new vapers who are quitting tobacco cigarettes. The flavours are really high quality. The draw is enjoyable, quiet and great for indirect inhalation. The fact that the cartridges are disposable is a downside.
